Domaine des Malandes
Lyne Marchive, her daughter Amandine and husband Richard
In the Chablis region (Bourgogne-Franche-Comté) we find Domaine de Malandes, whose 30-hectare vineyards themselves are located in the heart of the historic Fourchaume, which is a real rarity. Unlike her mother Lyne, the current owner Amandine decided to go completely organic when handing over in 2017. Not only out of respect for the environment and grapes, but also and especially for the employees who are in the vineyards every day.
Chablis is located in the far north of Burgundy and therefore has a cooler (micro) climate than the rest of the region anyway. Consequently, the wines produced here have more freshness and acidity. Because of the unique soil, the wines also have a very mineral character - "the taste of flint", as they call it here. Chablis wines are very pure and honest, also because there is little use of wooden barrels for maturation.
