Emmanuel Pageot
Emmanuel Pageot, over an astonishing journey, established himself with his wife in Gabian, in the Languedoc, on the edge of Roussillon. His wines seem to come from another planet, so unlike any other. It should first be noted that Emmanuel practices biodynamic viticulture (double certification Démeter and Ecocert) where the smallest details are taken to the extreme. (ex: his more than original compost made from goose feathers, olive skins (from oil mills) and pig's nails!) He deals a lot in herbal medicine and develops his own recipes from his long experience in vineyard management. Emmanuel has vinified in Alsace, Burgundy, etc ..., each time with the greatest, but also in New Zealand and South Africa ... He therefore manages to master all cases. Then, its vinifications are more than particular: wine in long hot maceration without the slightest pumping over. It is by letting the wine "cook" this way that Emmanuel claims to best express the truth of the taste of his land. Judging by the wines, he clearly seems to have opted for the right method! All the cuvées present an immense "salinity" but also a very particular smoothness and a totally unusual length. Each wine is a real little "masterpiece". The production is ultra-limited in quantity. We are here in the exceptional from all points of view. A great discovery, moreover, widely praised by the press, with a particular crush attributed to Emmanuel Pageot by the Revue des Vins de France.
